Birthday at Sketch Gallery

My birthday recently passed and I'm not one to go out all night clubbing, but much rather splurge on a nice dinner or going somewhere different thats a bit of an adventure. Since it's been almost 1 year since these photos were taken on my last birthday, I though it was the perfect time to share this.

Sketch - the Gallery is one of those places that is often seen on instagram, but you might not know exactly what it is. It's a beautiful restaurant that hosts the most decadent if not pretty afternoon teas i've ever experienced. The space is, as one of my old instagram posts captioned a 'Wes Anderson Wonderland' the art hung on the walls is all done by Turner Prize nominated artist David Shrigley and even the tea sets are also dotted with his words and phrases.

We opted for the champagne afternoon tea, because why not? It was my birthday and everything is a little better with some bubbly.

The most lush part of the experience was the first moment walking into the room and taking in the decor. It's a pallet of dusty pink and golds with the glimmer from the glassware. The designer of the chairs is India Mahdavi so if you are dying to own one or... 6 better get on it. I sure am!

We were a little hungry as you can see from Erin's face. So it didn't take us long to dig in and maybe got a few more sandwiches when they were offered. The one sandwich favourite i've taken away from my time in London has to be the coronation chicken. So stay tuned because a recipe maybe on it's way!
