Friday May 10th, the night that the past repeats itself with the opening of The Great Gatsby. The new adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's seminal novel directed by Baz Luhrmann. The only question is will it be a worthy companion to the novel? I will be able to tell later in the week when I finally see it in theaters. Last night I did get to enjoy an amazing evening in The Oak Room at the Fairmont Palliser. Decorated with Gatsby themes and stuffed with bottles of Moët Champagne one could easily be transported back to the twenties until you accidentally peeked out the window into modern times.
